CHARTERS

THE MISSION...

Each trip is individualized to cater to the client’s experience and comfort level.  By letting Capt Mark know of your goals and background ahead of time, he can tailor the trip so that expectations from both parties are on the same page.  Regardless of your experience level, one of Capt Mark’s goals is for you to finish the day having learned something new….this could be a fishing technique, knowledge of your target species, casting tips, intricacies of the ecosystem….the learning is limited only by time on the boat.

THE BOAT...

Capt Mark fishes from one of the best flyfishing boats available, the Jones Brothers 1910LT.  This twenty foot beamy boat has an elevated casting deck on the bow, drafts a bit more than one foot of water, has plenty of freeboard for chop, and is powered by the Yamaha 150 hp four stroke outboard.  This craft easily handles a chop, and with a range of nearly 200 miles the fish have no place to hide.  The Jones Brothers boats are made in North Carolina for OBX conditions, so there is no compromise in the hull design.  There is plenty of storage for gear, and Capt Mark is equipped with state of the art GPS and safety gear.  Whether sight fishing the flats or stemming the tide at the head of a rip, the 1910LT is a wonderful fishing machine.

GEAR...

Clients are encouraged to bring their own fishing gear if it’s what they are comfortable with.  That being said, Capt Mark has all the fly rod outfits with appropriate lines, leaders, and flies that will be needed during the course of a fishing trip.  This is particularly helpful for new fly anglers or vacationers who wish to travel light.  Spinning gear and an assortment of artificial lures can also be available for non-fly anglers who would like to get in on the action.
